The Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority has revealed that Israeli authorities have approved three major construction plans for the Ma'ale Adumim settlement built on Palestinian land east of Jerusalem. These recently approved plans aim to create geographical continuity between the settlement and the Mishor Adumim industrial zone, further isolating geographical areas between the two colonial sites.
These plans were submitted for approval in late 2024 and have been approved in recent days, in what appears to be a clear intention as part of a race against time to impose facts on the ground, particularly around the vicinity of Jerusalem, intensifying the process of isolating and besieging it through various colonial measures targeting it.
Upon reviewing the maps and documents attached to these plans, it became clear that the three plans, marked in red on the attached map, work in an integrated manner to create geographical continuity between the Ma'ale Adumim settlement and the Mishor Adumim industrial zone to the east of the settlement, indicated in yellow on the map.
The three plans are as follows:
-
The structural plan numbered יוש/1/59/7/1/420 for the Ma'ale Adumim settlement, aiming to build a total of 1,113 new settlement units on an area estimated at 1,307 dunums of Palestinian land.
-
The second plan numbered יוש/2/59/7/1/420 aims to build 944 settlement units on an area estimated at 680 dunums, connecting with the first plan.
-
The third plan numbered יוש/3/59/7/1/420 aims to build 1,108 new settlement units on an area estimated at 486 dunums, connecting with the previous two plans to create geographical continuity between the Ma'ale Adumim and Mishor Adumim settlements.
These plans include the construction of a new settlement neighborhood, in addition to a new road network that strengthens control over the main road, isolating the communities of Bir al-Maskub, Snisel, and other communities from the communities located west of the settlement and from the road entirely.
It should be noted that throughout 2024, the occupation presented 21 structural plans for settlements outside the boundaries of Jerusalem municipality, while in the first half of 2025, it presented a total of 28 structural plans for the same geographical area, as part of the major, intensive, and unprecedented targeting of this region.
